Privacy policy

What we collect, why, and how to get it removed. Written in plain English because you should not need a lawyer to read it.

Who we are

The Vibe Marketing Lab ("we", "us") is an Australian community and publication for marketers building AI systems. We operate this website at thevibemarketinglab.com, the free community hosted on Skool, and the advertising and social accounts that promote them.

We are bound by the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. Where we advertise to people in the United Kingdom or the European Union, we also follow the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR for those people.

What we collect

On this website

This website is a static site. It has no accounts, no login and no forms. We do not ask you for your name or email here.

  • Analytics. We use DataFast, a privacy-focused analytics service, to count page views and see which pages, referrers, countries and device types bring people to the site. We use it to understand what content is useful. We do not use it to identify you personally.
  • Hosting logs. The site is served by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel records standard request data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and reliability.
  • Fonts. Some pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when the font files are requested.

In the community

The community lives on Skool. When you join, Skool collects your name, email address and profile details underSkool's own privacy policy. Our onboarding questions ask what you want to learn, which AI tools you use and your email address. We use those answers to shape what we teach and to send you community updates. We do not sell them.

From advertising

We run ads on Facebook and Instagram. If you arrive through one of those ads and join the community, Skool's Meta integration reports that registration back to Meta so we can see whether the ad worked. This uses the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API. Meta's handling of that data is covered byMeta's privacy policy, and you can control ad personalisation in your Meta settings.

Our use of Meta's platform

We use Meta's developer tools, including the Marketing API, to manage our own ad account, Facebook Page, Instagram and Threads accounts, and WhatsApp business messaging. These tools act on accounts we own. They do not give us access to your personal Meta data beyond what Meta already shows any advertiser or page owner, such as aggregate ad performance, and messages you choose to send us.

If you message us on WhatsApp, Instagram or Threads, we keep the conversation so we can reply and follow up. We do not add you to any list without asking.

How we use information

  • To run the website and the community and keep them working.
  • To see which content and which ads are useful, in aggregate.
  • To reply when you contact us.
  • To send community updates and lessons, which you can stop at any time.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with third parties except the service providers named on this page, who process it on our behalf.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies of its own. Skool and Meta set cookies on their platforms under their own policies. If you have clicked a Meta ad, Meta may set a cookie on the Skool domain to attribute your registration to the ad.

How long we keep it

Analytics and hosting logs are aggregated and retained by the providers for their standard periods. Community profile data is kept while you are a member. Messages are kept while the conversation is relevant, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, and to complain to your local data protection authority. In Australia, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Data deletion

To have your data deleted:

  1. Email privacy@thevibemarketinglab.com with the subject line "Data deletion" and the email address or Skool profile you used.
  2. We will confirm receipt within 5 business days and delete what we hold within 30 days.
  3. To leave the community and remove your profile, use Skool's account settings or ask us and we will remove you.

Deleting data we hold does not delete data held directly by Skool, Meta or Google under their own policies. Their privacy pages explain how to make those requests.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the top of this page. Material changes are also posted in the community.
